Description

Upper-End MS64 ★ 1855 Arrows Quarter

1855 25C Arrows MS64 ★ NGC. Erroneously described as a half dollar on the holder. Final year of the Arrows type, the 1855 had an abundant mintage of 2.8 million pieces. While not scarce in the lower grades of Uncirculated, the 1855 is remarkably challenging in MS64 and finer condition. This is a mostly brilliant example that is surrounded by a ring of golden at the margins on each side, and the fields display a semiprooflike glimmer. The devices are sharp, except for a few of the stars on the left side of the obverse. A significant type coin and a good buy at this grade and price level.(Registry values: P4)
