Description

1855 Arrows Quarter, MS65
Rare in All Uncirculated Grades, Especially Gem

1855 25C Arrows MS65 NGC. Larry Briggs, in his Liberty Seated Quarters book, says the 1855 Arrows is very common in grades from Good to VF, scarce in XF and AU, and very scarce in Uncirculated grades. As indicated from the population figures, Gem and better examples are very challenging. The Gem we offer here has whispers of russet patina over lustrous surfaces that are devoid of significant marks. The fields are bright and semireflective on each side. Except for the star centers along the upper left (facing) obverse border and the feathers on the eagle's right leg, the design elements are well impressed. Census: 7 in 65, 7 finer (4/12).(Registry values: P4)
