Description

1855-S Arrows AU 50 Obverse Damage. The 1855-S was the first quarter to be struck at the newly-opened San Francisco mint. Almost 400,000 pieces were minted, but heavy demand and export to the Orient took a heavy toll on this issue. Portions of the obverse are deeper in color than the balance of the coin and display a noticeable roughness.
