Satiny Gem 1856 Seated Quarter
A Conditional Rarity
1856 25C MS65 PCGS. Even though more than 7.2 million pieces
were made, the 1856 Seated quarter is conditionally rare at the Gem
level. This piece is one of only 12 specimens that PCGS has
certified, with nine finer (6/10). The silver-gray surfaces are
tinged with amber and lilac and display soft, satin luster. The
strike is a bit soft on Liberty's head and some of the upper
obverse stars, as well as on the lower reverse, but abrasions are
nearly nonexistent.(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23TB, PCGS# 5438, GSID# 5127)
