    Description

Frosted and Attractively Toned MS66 1856 No Motto Quarter

1856 25C MS66 PCGS. Gem type collectors would be wise to take note of this gorgeous No Motto Seated quarter. Richly frosted and undeniably smooth, the surfaces are originally toned in medium orange, gold, and sea-green colors. We have handled several poorly struck survivors of this high mintage issue, but this coin is crisply detailed in all areas. There are a few faint clashmarks in the right obverse field, as well as several peripheral cracks on both sides, but these features are as struck and not distracting. Population: 7 in 66, 0 finer (10/03).
