Intensely Colorful 1857 Seated Quarter, MS 66
1857 25C MS 66 PCGS. This coin was previously offered as lot 6884 in our November 2000 Santa Clara Signature Sale, where it was described as: "This richly colored example is everything that an original Gem Seated quarter should be--thickly frosted, fully struck, and free of noticeable bagmarks. The obverse is toned in deep sea-green color with a swath of dappled lilac patina over the upper left quadrant. The reverse is predominantly lilac-gray in the center with irregular sea-green toning toward the rim."Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23TE, PCGS# 5442, GSID# 5128)
