Description

1857-O 25C MS61 NGC. Despite a sizeable mintage of nearly 1.2 million pieces, this O-mint Seated quarter issue is surprisingly elusive in Uncirculated grades. The present example is richly toned over both sides in deep russet-red and purple patina. Liberty's head is typically weak, but most of the other design elements are sharply defined. Vibrantly lustrous and free of severe marks; a fingerprint fragment is noted across the upper reverse field.
