    Scarce Near-Gem 1859 Quarter, MS64 PCGS

1859 25C MS64 PCGS. A mixture of mottled grayish-blue toning and light tan-rose hues visits lustrous surfaces on both the obverse and reverse. The design elements are sharply struck, including most of the stars, which often exhibit weakness on this issue. A few small, hardly noticeable marks on Liberty's right arm and breast, in the upper right obverse field, and in the upper reverse field limit the grade. The 1859 is quite scarce in Mint State condition. This specimen will make a handsome addition to a high-grade Liberty Seated quarter collection. Population: 14 in 64, 8 finer (3/04).
