    Description

    1859-O Quarter, MS65
    A Census-Level Specimen

1859-O 25C MS65 PCGS. CAC. A few curious die lines are visible above STATES OF, but otherwise struck from crisp dies that show no defects. This impressive Gem is tied for the finest PCGS certified 1859-O quarter, with only one other MS65 certified at that service. NGC has also certified two, along with a single finer coins (3/13). We believe that there may have been some resubmissions, and that the true Gem population is only two or three coins. This sharply defined specimen has frosty silver luster that shines through the gold and violet toning.(Registry values: P5)
