Description
Scarce 1859-S Quarter, AU Details
1859-S 25C --Improperly Cleaned--NCS. AU Details. Light gray, somewhat subdued surfaces exhibit sharply defined design features; the star centrils are bold, and Liberty's hair and foot and the eagle's plumage are strong. The few minute marks that occur in the obverse field do not distract. Scarcer than its 80,000-piece mintage might suggest.(Registry values: P8)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23TN, PCGS# 5450, Greysheet# 5191)
