    Description

    1860-S Quarter, Fine 12
Attractive and Problem-Free for the Grade

1860-S 25C Fine 12 PCGS. The 1860-S was not a particularly low-mintage issue with 56,000 pieces struck but it is almost nonexistent today, as most examples were worn to nothing or lost to attrition. Unlike most survivors found in Fine, this piece lacks the problems usually encountered. The strike is soft, as always, but each side is deep gray with pale gray accents around the devices.(Registry values: P8) (NGC ID# 442R, PCGS# 5453)

    Weight: 6.22 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper

With the superb catalog, a masterwork prepared by Mark Borckhardt, the sale was destined to meet all of my expectations; that it did, and then some. Be assured that I would highly recommend Heritage Auctions to any of my associates contemplating the sale
