Description
1861 25C VF 35 Reverse Graffiti. This interesting specimen was struck partially out of collar and leaving a "railroad rim." While it is impossible for us to say for sure, this occurrence is presumably quite rare on a Seated quarter. The surfaces display suitable definition for the grade and pleasing, lightly toned faces, although we note that a small rim bruise on the lower right obverse, as well as a two prominent pinscratches that form an X in the upper left reverse field, detract from this coin's overall eye appeal.
