    Description

    1862 Seated Quarter, MS67
One of the Finest Known of the Design Type

1862 25C MS67 PCGS. Pale golden-brown toning visits this vibrantly lustrous MS67 example. Most of the color is seen around the margin on the obverse, and is more evenly distributed over the reverse. This is a amazingly well-preserved Civil War-era Seated quarter, and the strike details are fully brought up on each side. While the mintage was considerable at 932,000 pieces, few were set aside in as-struck condition over the past 151 years. Only two other PCGS coins have been so graded, and NGC has certified one MS67 and a single MS68 of this date (3/13).(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 23TV, PCGS# 5456)
