Description

1862 MS 67 NGC. Despite 1862 being a Civil War date, there are actually quite a few more uncirculated examples known of this date than other, later issues that were more susceptible to hoarding and export by New York bullion dealers. This is a coin of unquestioned originality. The surfaces are highly lustrous and this frosted sheen glows beneath the multiple layerings of gray, blue, and sea-green toning. Sharply struck, there are no obvious surface distractions on either side of this impressive No Motto quarter. Population: 2 in 67, none are finer.
