Description
1862-S 25C --Corroded--ANACS. AU Details, Net XF40. Civil War period coins are always popular, this date being particularly challenging due to a mintage of only 67,000 coins, most of which saw heavy circulation and were later melted. The example offered here has surface issues in the right obverse field, with ebony toning within all the design elements, making them stand out against the light silver-gray fields. Inoffensive light scratches appear at Liberty's neck.
