Description

1867 Seated Liberty Quarter, XF45
Scarce, Low-Mintage Date

1867 25C XF45 PCGS. Only 20,000 Seated Liberty quarters were struck in 1867, and the date is scarce in all grades today. Larry Briggs considers the 1867 an R.5 issue in XF grades. The present coin is sharply detailed for an XF45, but the surfaces exhibit a scattering of minor abrasions on both sides, consistent with the grade. Attractive green and violet toning covers the surfaces, which show traces of prooflike reflectivity in sheltered areas. Population: 6 in 45, 25 finer (8/10).(Registry values: P5)
