Challenging 1868-S Quarter, MS62
1868-S 25C MS62 NGC. San Francisco quarters of 1868 are seen infrequently and are quite rare in AU and above. Indeed, Larry Briggs (1991) assigns the issue a high R.6 rarity rating in Uncirculated grades. Frosty silver-gray surfaces exhibit well struck design elements except for minor softness in Liberty's hair and the adjacent stars. A few minor ticks are inconsequential.
