Description
1872 25C MS 60 PCGS. Briggs 2-B. This is a rather attractive coin despite the basal Mint State grade designation. Boldly impressed save for some of the star centers, this example's deeply reflective fields impart a pleasing prooflike appearance. The scattered contact marks are well hidden beneath a layer of charcoal-gray patina. An elusive P-mint issue that saw heavy melting in the aftermath of the Mint Act of 1873, strictly Uncirculated survivors such as this should be considered quite scarce.
