High Grade 1872-CC Quarter
1872-CC AU 50 NGC. Ex: Pittman. This is the third finest certified example of this key Carson City quarter, bettered only by an AU 55 and a mint state specimen. Well defined with gunmetal-blue toning on both sides, and accented with gold and crimson colors. Pleasing for the grade with a hint of remaining luster.Purchased on 1/14/55 from F.K. Saab for $160; John J. Pittman Collection (Akers, 5/98), lot 1346.
