Not Sold Description
1872-S 25C Fair 2 Bent SEGS. Briggs 1-A, the only known dies. According to this coin's insert, one can discern that it is an 1872-S by the position of the date as well as the number of reeds around the edge. If this is true, then it is the only way since a combination of heavy wear and a crescent of dark toning have obliterated all details on the lower reverse. The upper reverse, as well as select areas of the obverse periphery, have also been lost to the rigors of heavy circulation that this specimen undoubtedly suffered.
