Description
Beautifully Toned, Lightly Circulated 1872-S Quarter
1872-S 25C AU 58 Old Cleaning SEGS. Briggs 1-A, the only known dies. With crisply struck, boldly delineated features and smooth, partially lustrous surfaces, this is an attractive representation of this conditionally challenging S-mint issue. The light hairlines, while evident at select light angles, are well hidden beneath this coin's gorgeous champagne-gray and blue-green patina. As most collectors of Seated quarters realize that this is the rarest S-mint delivery in the entire series, we anticipate that this example will elicit strong bids when it crosses the auction block.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23UT, PCGS# 5483, GSID# 5206)
