Attractive 1877-S Quarter, MS66
1877-S 25C MS66 NGC. Even for a generous mintage of nearly 9 million pieces, the present Premium Gem must be a serious contender for the most attractive from an aesthetic viewpoint, if not absolutely the finest from a technical standpoint. The silver-white surfaces show just the barest suggestion of champagne patina, and full cartwheel luster bursts forth from each side. A loupe reveals both a bold strike, and the few tiny ticks that apparently prevent a Superb Gem grade.
