Thickly Frosted 1879 Seated Quarter, MS66
1879 25C MS66 PCGS. Unsurprisingly for a coinage of only 13,600 pieces, this example offers wonderful prooflike surfaces, even though they are unacknowledged on the PCGS slab. But both sides show copious cartwheel luster, with thick mint frost coating the devices and high reflectivity in the fields. Tinges of iridescent pink and ice-blue dance near the obverse rim, with lilac hues on the reverse periphery.
