Description

Subtly Toned 1879 Seated Quarter, MS68
Sharply Struck and Among the Finest Graded

1879 25C MS68 NGC. Type Two Reverse. The 1879 is among the low-mintage P-mint issues from late in the series, in this case produced to the extent of a mere 13,600 coins--and this MS68 example is one of a handful of finest certified at either service. Subtle tinges of blue and jade occupy the centers, complementing the ring of amber-gold at the rims, and the surfaces are, as expected and hoped for, almost completely distraction-free. The strike is pleasingly bold. Census: 6 in 68, 0 finer (6/10).(Registry values: P1)
