Description
1879 25C AU 55 NGC. Briggs 1-A. Despite a generous endowment of thick russet-gray toning, this coin still reveals traces of its prooflike finish. While several of the star centers are noticeably weak, we note that the balance of this coin displays sharp definition despite obvious wear. Largely devoid of circulation marks, this is an original example of the issue that inaugurated the low mintage era of the Seated quarter series.
