    Description

Well Preserved 1882 Seated Quarter, MS66 PCGS

1882 25C MS66 PCGS. Briggs 1-A, Early Die State. Easily identified by recutting above and to the left of the base of the 1 and the 8 of the date. Also, a die lump is seen below and to the right of the base of the pole on Liberty's thigh. The "A" reverse shows a die chip hidden in the eagle's leg feathers directly below the first two vertical stripes in the shield. A premium Gem that is colorfully toned in multicolored iridescent hues, including cinnamon, azure-blue, and dove-gray. Frosty luster underlies the color with smooth, boldly detailed features, save for the surrounding obverse stars. Only faint die clashing on each side interrupts the well preserved fabric of the surfaces. From a mintage of just 15,200 business strikes. Population: 22 in 66, 15 finer (1/05).(#5514) (Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 23VE, PCGS# 5514)
