Lustrous 1888 Premium Gem Quarter
1888 25C MS66 PCGS. The 1888 quarter was struck to the tune of 10,000 circulation strikes. Larry Briggs (1991) writes that this issue is: "Very scarce and underrated as a date." Both sides display the typical frosty luster that characterizes these coins. A well executed strike brings out sharp detail on the design features, except for minor softness in some of the star centers, and well preserved surfaces possess a silver-gray color imbued with hints of light tan.
