Description

1888 MS 66 NGC. A popular date, struck from a mintage of 10,001 pieces, few of which survive today in such a superior state of preservation. Both sides of this sharply struck coin are toned in patches of deep blue and rose with an overall gray appearance. Well struck with mint luster that is undiminished by the passage of 109 years and is not obscured by the presence of heavy toning. Population: 11 in 66, only 2 finer.
