Description
Captivating 1889 Seated Quarter, MS67 PCGS
1889 25C MS67 PCGS. One of only 12,000 business strike Quarters produced in 1889, this Superb Gem was obviously well cared for since the time of issue. While some survivors of this date display semi-prooflike or prooflike finishes, this coin is uniformly frosted with captivating cartwheel effects. Colorful sea-green toning overlays the obverse, the reverse is somewhat lighter with a silver-gray center deepening to crimson, then turquoise-blue at the border. Certainly one of the finest known examples. Population: 21 in 67, 1 finer (9/04).(#5522) (Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23VM, PCGS# 5522, GSID# 5162)
