Description

1891 25C MS 63 NGC. Briggs 3-C. Smartly impressed save for a few of the star centers, this lightly marked specimen displays fulsome mint luster that cartwheels powerfully around both the obverse and the reverse. A prominent clash mark is visible in the obverse field about Liberty's right (facing) hand. The pale champagne-gold toning that overlays both sides deepens markedly to lilac and blue shades about isolated areas of the obverse periphery. This is a beautiful example from the last year of issue for Christian Gobrecht's seemingly inexhaustible Liberty Seated quarter.
