Description

1891 25C MS 64 SEGS. Briggs 7-G. This is the scarcest die variety of this P-mint delivery that is readily identifiable by the remnants of an 89 that reside within the denticles below the date. Modestly reflective, the surfaces exhibit lilac-champagne patina that recedes to brilliance over the central reverse. As is typical of the issue, the otherwise strong impression wanes markedly over several of the stars and the top of Liberty's head. A smooth near-gem example, this piece should elicit strong bids from knowledgeable Seated quarter collectors.
