    Description

    1891-O Quarter, Bold MS65
    Last-Year O-Mint Issue
First Struck in New Orleans Since 1860-O

1891-O 25C MS65 PCGS. Boldly struck surfaces are mildly prooflike under a thin veil of golden-gray patina. The surfaces are clean and vibrant, displaying a few tiny marks on the obverse figure and in the right field. One of just 68,000 quarters produced at the New Orleans Mint after a hiatus of 31 years, and a stunning coin in every respect. It is unclear now if there are one or two possible coins in grades finer than Gem, but in any case this piece resides solidly within the Condition Census, either in a tie for second or third place.
