Description
1841-O 25C Fine 12 SEGS, Briggs 1-B, mottled olive-gray patina envelops both sides of this smooth, essentially mark-free specimen; 1841-O Reverse of 1840-O VF 30, Briggs 1-A Late Die State, richly toned in variegated charcoal and gray hues, this piece does not exhibit the shelf doubling on the mintmark that characterizes some examples of this die variety; 1841-O VF 30, Briggs 3-D Late Die State, largely untoned, this piece is a later die state of this variety that does not show evidence of recutting on the first two numerals of the date; 1841-O Doubled Die Obverse XF 45, Briggs 2-C, the olive-gray toning that accentuates the reverse deepens to mottled charcoal shades on the obverse; and an 1841-O 18/18 XF 45, Briggs 3-D, beautifully toned in lavender, gray, and olive shades, this piece exhibits recutting on the 18 of the date that is only visible under magnification. All coins are SEGS certified.
