Description
1844 25C VF 30 SEGS, Briggs 1-A Die State, heavy die cracks about the upper reverse devices establish the attribution of this evenly toned, lavender-gray piece; and an 1844 Doubled Date AU 50 SEGS, Briggs 1-A, while the fields exhibit modest reflectivity, this coin's dark, mottled cobalt-blue and charcoal-gray toning raises questions as to its originality.
