Description
1856 25C AU 50 Obverse Corrosion Spot, Briggs 5-C Middle Die State, while the balance of this coin exhibits even sandy-charcoal patina, the darkly toned, lightly pitted right obverse field evidences signs of nature's wrath; 1856 AU 50 Ancient Cleaning, Briggs 11-J, numerous hairlines throughout and a sizeable abrasion in the right obverse field are still visible beneath this coin's blanket of second toning; 1856 AU 50 Stripped Surfaces; Briggs 13-L, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, while clearly not a knowledgeable numismatist, was definitely strong enough to plane off the upper several layers of this coin's surfaces; and an 1856/6 AU 58 Questionable Toning, beautifully detailed throughout, this coin was victimized by a chemical that imparted dark crimson-charcoal toning to its surfaces. All coins are SEGS encapsulated.
