Description

1856-O 25C Fine 12 Cleaned SEGS, Briggs 3-C, harshly cleaned in an effort to remove the dark toning that is still evident in isolated areas about the devices; 1856-O Fine 15 Cleaned, Briggs 4-C, this is a bright, silver-white coin that betrays numerous hairlines; 1856-O VF 35, Briggs 2-B, originally and attractively toned in crimson-olive shades, this is a suitably detailed specimen despite overall wear; 1856-O XF 45 Retoned, Briggs 1-A, despite pleasing definition and smooth surfaces, this conditionally challenging O-mint quarter owes its limited eye appeal to the freckled lilac and gray colors that adorn both sides; and an 1856-O AU 50, Briggs 6-E, delicately toned in slate-gray and gold hues, this lightly circulated representation is of obvious importance among collectors who understand this issue's scarcity in Mint State. All coins are SEGS encapsulated.
