Description
1859 25C Fine 12 Old Cleaning SEGS, Type Two/Type Two, Briggs 10-H, a pleasing, delicately toned representation of the obverse/reverse die pairing that Larry Briggs (1991) asserts is the rarest of this issue; 1859 VF 30 Cleaned, Type One/Type One, Briggs 4-C, light hairlines are still visible beneath this coin's blanket of light gray patina; 1859 XF 40 Old Cleaning, Type One/Type Two, Briggs 6-E, the obverse field on either side of Liberty's right (facing) arm displays heavy clash marks that are indicative of this die variety; 1859 XF 40, Type One/Type Two, Briggs 7-F, nicely defined and delicately toned in light charcoal-gray hues, the surfaces reveal some light hairlines; 1859 XF 45, Type One/Type One, Briggs 3-C, mottled sandy-brown toning adheres to both sides of this early striking; and an 1859 AU 50 "Toned, Lite Marks, Type One/Type One", Briggs 5-D, this is a beautiful, multicolored specimen with shades of lavender-gray, electric-blue, orange-russet, and green-gold swirled across the surfaces alongside a prominent dig in the right obverse field. All coins are SEGS encapsulated.
