Description
1862 25C VF 20 SEGS, Briggs 1-A, moderately worn beneath smoky-gray patina; 1862 VF 25, Briggs 2-B Die State, either a cleaning or an immersion in a weak acid bath stripped away this coin's original toning and left dark halos about the devices; 1862 XF 40 Ancient Cleaning, Briggs 2-B Early Die State, although nicely detailed within the confines of this grade level, this example's eye appeal is limited by obvious hairlines and a dig in the lower right obverse field; and an 1862-S VF 30, Briggs 1-A, this scarce S-mint quarter combines a lilac-gray obverse with a pale golden reverse. All coins are SEGS certified.
