Description
1871 25C Fine 12 SEGS, Briggs 4-C Early Die State, lightly toned in slate-gray shades, the reverse of this example displays a prominent pinscratch through the eagle's neck and left (facing) wing; 1871 VF 20, Briggs 5-C, this is an attractive coin for the grade with no mentionable distractions and lilac-gray toning throughout; 1871 VF 30, Briggs 4-C Late Die State, severe die polishing has stripped away the central letters of LIBERTY on this deeply toned, crimson-gray specimen; and an 1871 XF 40, Briggs 4-C Late, a prominent indentation in the central reverse gives this coin an unfortunate warped appearance. All coins are SEGS encapsulated.
