Description
1872 25C VF 20 SEGS, Briggs 1-B, this is a respectable example of this heavily melted issue that displays deep olive-gray patina throughout; 1872 VF 30, Briggs 4-D, remnants of an extra 8 in the denticles below the date is the characteristic feature of this scarcer die variety; 1872 AU 50 Old Cleaning, Briggs 2-B, hairlines abound beneath this coin's mottled yellow-gray and charcoal coloration; 1873 No Arrows XF 40 Corroded, Open 3, Briggs 2-B, the dark coloration that envelops the obverse does not stray too far from the reverse's denticles; and an 1873 No Arrows XF 45 Retoned, Open 3, Briggs 1-A, while even crimson toning abounds on the obverse, the reverse displays sandy-gray patina that is equally questionable. All coins are SEGS encapsulated.
