Description

1877 25C XF 40 Scratched, Retoned SEGS, Briggs 3-D, with questionable crimson-gray toning throughout and heavy pinscratches through Liberty's face, this otherwise nicely defined specimen is possessed of limited eye appeal; 1877 XF 40, Briggs 8-I, nicely delineated and richly toned in olive-gray hues; 1877 XF 45 Briggs 7-H, the gunmetal-gray patina that overlays this specimen's central areas yields to russet-olive highlights about the denticles; 1877 AU 50, Briggs 2-C, an interesting die variety, this example was struck from an obverse die that suffered heavy enough damage to leave a sizeable chip over the horizontal lines of the obverse shield; and an 1877 Misplaced Date AU 50, Briggs 6-G, attractively toned in mottled gray-gold and russet-lilac shades, this example is an original, richly detailed About Uncirculated survivor of this P-mint delivery. All coins have been encapsulated by SEGS.
