Description

1877-S 25C Fair 2 SEGS, Type Two Reverse, Large S, as befits the grade designation, this coin is identifiable as to type and issue, but displays little else in the way of detail; 1877-S VG 10 Cleaned, Type Two Reverse, Small S, this coin is a bit too shiny for the grade to be original; 1877-S VG 10, Large S, Briggs 8-H, golden-gray patina dominates both sides save for deep charcoal highlights on the lower obverse and upper reverse; 1877-S VG 10, Large S, Briggs 12-H, lightly toned and respectable for the grade; 1877-S VG 10, Type Two Reverse, Large S, evenly toned in lilac-gray and sandy-gold shades; 1877-S Fine 12 Old Cleaning, Type Two Reverse, Large S, while both sides of this moderately worn example display heavy hairlines, the obverse exhibits mottled gold accents that deepen to olive-green about isolated areas of the periphery; 1877-S/S Fine 15 "Lite Cleaning, Large S", Briggs 7-G, the repunching that this insert refers to is not readily evident on this obviously mishandled specimen; 1877-S VF 25 Cleaned, Large S, Briggs 9-I, heavy hairlines and a bright-white appearance characterize this unfortunate example; 1877-S VF 25 Cleaned, Type Two Reverse, Large S, cleaned beneath dirty-gray patina; 1877-S VF 25, Type Two Reverse, Large S, two sizeable digs on the obverse about Liberty's neck are the only circulation marks worthy of mention; and an 1877-S VF 30, Large S, deeply toned in lavender-gray shades that yield to charcoal over isolated areas of the obverse. All coins are SEGS encapsulated.
