Description

1878-CC 25C Fine 12 Cleaned SEGS, Briggs 3-D, an abrasive cleaning has unfortunately ruined the eye appeal of this moderately circulated CC-mint quarter; 1878-CC Fine 12, Briggs 2-B, as is typical of the series, this well worn specimen displays markedly less detail on the reverse as compared to the obverse; 1878-CC Fine 15, Briggs 4-E, poor reverse definition and a noticeable indentation in the field before Liberty's mouth are noteworthy distractions; 1878-CC VF 20 Obverse Scratch, Briggs 3-C, this dove-gray specimen exhibits a pair of sizeable pinscratches through Liberty's body as well as exceptionally poor detail about the reverse periphery; and an 1878-CC VF 30, Briggs 1-B, the prominent die scratch that bisects Liberty's torso helps to establish this lilac-gray piece as an example of the "Cancelled Obverse Die" variety. All coins are SEGS encapsulated.
