Pleasing, Beautifully Toned Gem 1854 Arrows Seated Quarter

1854 25C Arrows MS65 PCGS. Even though the 1854-P has a sizeable original mintage, and is the most common issue of the 1854-1855 Arrows type, it is anything but common in the finer Mint State grades. The currently offered Gem is fully struck with attractive rose, gray-violet, and sea-green toning, and no significant marks. For us one of the hallmarks of this piece is the exceptional luster. It is soft and frosted, lying over the surfaces in a relatively undisturbed state. A few diagonal toning streaks cross the upper obverse. The strike is also noteworthy, being full in all areas, and showing no softness on either side. A pleasing example of this popular two-year type. Population: 10 in 65, 8 finer (3/04).
