1864-S 25C VF20 PCGS. Briggs 1-A. A low mintage of 20,000 coins and a high rate of attrition account for the paltry survivorship of about 100 to 150 pieces. Briggs writes: "A rare date that is in great demand." This pleasing VF quarter features deep olive-gray tones over the obverse and a light steel-gray reverse. The design elements are well-worn but clear. Population: 6 in 20, 35 finer (11/16).(Registry values: P7)
