Lustrous 1867 Rays Nickel, MS65
1867 5C Rays MS65 NGC. The 1867 With Rays variety Shield nickel can be located through the near-Gem level of preservation, after which it becomes more challenging. Streaks of soft reddish-tan show on the lustrous surfaces of this Gem example, and a sharp strike leaves relatively good definition on the design elements. A couple of small toning spots are visible on the obverse. Census: 49 in 65, 10 finer (8/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22NY, PCGS# 3791, GSID# 2869)
