Key 1880 Shield Nickel, Choice AU
1880 5C AU55 PCGS. CAC. While most Shield nickels had productions in the millions, the 1880 had an astonishingly low mintage of only 16,000 pieces. The present coin has mostly deep gray patina, but there are a few darker areas around the devices. Subtle traces of luster enhance the crisply defined details.
