1880 5C AU55 PCGS. CAC. Well-defined with light gray patina.
A pair of small marks on the prominent 5 will identify the present
piece. The second 8 in the date is widely repunched south, a die
also used to strike proofs. The lowest mintage (16,000) business
strike issue of the Shield nickel series. Population: 13 in 55, 26
