    1883 Shield Nickel, MS67
    Top-Graded Final-Year Representative

    1883 5C MS67 PCGS. The final issue in the Shield nickel series (1866-1883) claims a mintage of 1.4 million coins. Many rolls were saved and examples are plentiful through MS66, but Superb Gems are scarce and none are numerically finer. Unmarked and highly lustrous surfaces are totally brilliant with the usual die cracks. The olive leaves, shield lines, and star radials are crisp. Die polish lines appear in the reverse field. Population: 20 in 67 (2 in 67+), 0 finer (4/19).(Registry values: N2998)
