Description

British Administration silver Dollar 1791, KM6 (36mm), AU53 NGC, a truly honest piece that obviously circulated as legal tender back in colonial days, a few ancient scuffs on the lion's posterior but otherwise almost entirely free of indications of commercial use other than light wear, the color a really pleasing light silvery gray. Among the nicest used pieces we have had or seen, "the real thing." The silver pieces seem to have been minted in and also slightly later than the year date they bear, and remembering the shipping times required to transport goods in those days it must be clear that colonial coinage such as this was used on site for possibly a couple of decades or longer beginning about 1792/3. These are really historic coins.
